I want to enable Wifi in Windows 8 operating system on Mac OS X 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion) within VMWare Fusion 5 in order to support test and development of software I am writing that evaluates available Wifi access points on Windows. I know how to enable the Windows Zero Configuration Service (ZCS) via sc config or services.msc, but Wifi is not an available connection type.
I have tried running VMWare Fusion with various 'Network Adapter Settings', including:. Share with my Mac. NAT. Bridged (Auto detect). Bridged (Wifi) Regardless of what I do, Windows 8 tells me that there are no wireless network adapters.
How can I enable Wifi in Windows 8 in VMWare Fusion on Mac so I can scan for Wifi adapters and connect/disconnect at will? Hi, The CP User guide says the below. By default, Capacity Planner collects performance data once per hour, 24 hours a day, seven days per week, taking multiple samples during a specified collection interval. By default, three samples are taken in four ‐ second intervals. The minimum, maximum, and average values are recorded. A typical setting is three samples at 4-second intervals, which gives a 12-second total collection time for each machine. Does this mean the performance data is collected only once per hour?
Or is it collected several times in an hour and the average is taken? Also, how is the peak utilization calculated? Any one please help me with below ESX vmkernel logs represents: It is filling all the space of around 4 to 5 esx hosts with logs continuosly for app every 5 mins. I have found a problem with Windows 7 and Windows 2008R2 Guests that doesn't seem to exist with Windows XP guests. I always park my guests in Unity Mode so that i can use Internet Explorer 7-8-9 from WinXP and Win7 and my databases running in Win2008 if i then Sleep my Host OS, my Win7 and Win2008 will exit Unity Mode and be locked in BlackScreen forever with no way to recover, other than rebooting the guest. My WinXP guests doesnt have that problem, they simply resume and are good to go. I also experience the problem of BlackScreen if i shut down my monitor (connected with DisplayPort, which causes Windows 7 Monitor detection to engage) - after turning on the monitor, my Windows 7 and Windows 2008 guest have BlackScreen because Unity Mode failed. I hope this will help debuggers find and kill the problems with BlackScreen guest.
Upon restarting one of two esxi hosts, some of the client machines can now only see host LAN not the physical one. These are windows server clients and if I add an additional VMware nic, the original one then works. On two VMware I have added this new card and in the guest os, swapped over the ip addressing and then in the client settings, deleted the original nic.
For these all is well but for the last one, this workaround fails. Note that in all cases, the NICs are set to see the whole network, not just host, and that none of the port groups have changed. Is there a way to simply reset the NICs on the machines to some factory default? Any help much appreciated. I know that currently when you add a vApp to the catalog that the database needs to be updated to re-enable the change SID checkbox, which I have done. So now when I deploy vApps from the catalog the SID changes and the VM's inside the vApp are added to the domain properly. Here is the issue I have not been able to workaround: Create a new vApp and add the VM that has change SID checked in the catalog and it creates the vApp without those options checked and therefore none of the machines are added to the domain and no sysprep happens.
Is there a fix for this that is seperate from the fix noted in this kb. Hi Folks, We are running newly configured VMware ESXi 5 node cluster. Each server having 6 NICs in which 2 NICs dedicated for Management and vMotion.
Rest connnected to trunk ports for multi VLAN communication. In vSwitch 2 we have configured one port group for each VLAN with total 5 VLANs.
We observed our Virtual machines becomes unreachable from network if; -DRS vMotion the VM -Manual vMotion -VM rebooted Also this occurs randomly not on any particular machine and this is intermedient problem which doesn't not occurs all time but most time. Please help me understand this issue and for the resolution of the same. Also if this is physical network issue how can I justify it? Thank you, Karthi.
I have a xml file which contains details about processor, memory, logical partition and OS to be installed on Logical partitions.I want to convert this XML file into an OVF format. The biggest challange is OVF discriptor XML file tag are not exactly matching with my XML file tag.Is it possible to define out own tags such as max memory, min memory, sharing mode etc in each LPAR memory section??? Is there any Virtual tool available for automatic conversion of XML to OVF?? Or do I need to map it pro-grammatically? Thanks in advance.
